“The teachers were a constant support and allowed me to do things I wouldn’t otherwise have been able to do.
For example, in Biology, Mr Landroth encouraged a number of students to be able to participate in a Student Scientist Partnership Program. Through this program I was able to work in a lab at QUT studying head and neck cancers. The skills I learnt in this lab have been invaluable in my first semester of Medical Science at University.
BBC prepared me very well for University. I was fortunate enough to be in the accelerated Mathematics program. This meant in Year 12, I was able to take a university Mathematics subject. This gave me a small ‘taste’ of university life after school.
