Research clearly shows that student engagement in leadership programs enhances academic learning and social and emotional well-being.

Pastoral Care within the Middle School has at its heart the notion of intentional friendship and occurs both formally and informally between all members of the school community.

The formal program is underpinned by the SenseAbility program. SenseAbility has been ‘designed to help enhance and maintain resilience and psychological well-being in young people by building their social and emotional skills’.

Student leadership opportunities occur in Year 7 and Year 9 and centre around servant and situational leadership. Under the mantra ‘courage and presence’, boys undertake authentic and real-world leadership opportunities aimed at developing a wide array of skillsets. The Middle School has recently established a Student Representative Council (MS SRC) with a Student Executive Team elected each Semester.

The College provides many opportunities for our Senior boys to further develop their personal confidence and leadership skills. Students are able to nominate for official roles and responsibilities in Year 12 including College Prefect, House Captain, Spirit Committee and Captain of a Sport, Cultural or Service activity. Boys elected to these positions act as role models for their peers, represent the school in public forums and foster the spirit of the College amongst students. Such care, opportunity and support give every boy the chance of success both personally and academically.
