Explanation of Results
Typically, BBC Seniors undertake six academic subjects studied across Years 11 and 12. Students who take part in our Advanced Study Program often complete a senior subject in Years 10 or 11, allowing them to undertake additional courses or university classes as part of their senior studies.
QCAA subject results are based on three Internal Assessments (IA) and one External Assessment (EA) for each of a student’s subjects, the results of which are then combined to create an overall score out of 100 for each subject. The weighting of IAs and EAs is different for each subject. For example, Physics EAs are worth 50 percent of a student’s grade, whereas, in English, EAs account for 25 percent of a student’s grade.
Based on this combined score, each student is also awarded a grade from A to E.
The Class of 2025 received their Internal Assessment results in Term 3. This week, they received their External Assessment results, subject scores, A to E grades, and Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) attainment.
