What is the difference between a scholarship and a bursary?
While both awards provide a fee reduction, bursaries are means-tested and are places specifically set aside for candidates in financial need who would otherwise be unable to access a BBC education. Conversely, scholarships are awarded on merit based on academic, sporting and cultural excellence, irrespective of financial need. Current students and new students are welcome to apply for both scholarships and bursaries.
Brisbane Boys’ College will maintain a proportional number of scholarship places while increasing the number of bursary places made available through the BBC Foundation, all thanks to philanthropy. We are committed to continuing to provide a range of opportunities for boys from diverse backgrounds to benefit from a BBC education.
