The third presentation for our 2019 Parent Seminar Series will focus on The Meaning of Educational Success, and will be delivered by the Headmaster, Mr Paul Brown.
We live in a time of remarkable education opportunity in Australia. Record investments into schools, a major Gonski 2.0 Review, the resurgence of policies geared towards esteeming and developing expertise, and a recent push by governments for an ‘accountability’ imperative – each characterise the current educational climate culminating from efforts of the past decade. It seems the time has come to advocate for an agenda to enhance the qualities of schools, their leaders, and their teachers. If so, how are we to measure success?
Australian educational results have declined according to international benchmarks but are we focussing on too narrow a measurement of educational excellence? What is the way forward for Australian schools and how is BBC responding to the challenge?
The presentation will run from 7.30am to 8.00am, with an additional 15 minutes for questions, and will cover the following topics:
• the current reality – tracking the decline
• the meaning of success
• the major underlying factors to achieving success
This is a complimentary event however please RSVP for catering purposes by Wednesday 24 April to Lucy Colledge via firstname.lastname@example.org
