BBC Robotics is offering two-day holiday workshops over the Term 3 break for BBC students and the wider community. This initiative aims to make coding accessible to everyone and we are pleased to extend the invitation to our wider local community.

Robotics LEGO Master Builder Workshop

Boys and girls in Years 4 to 7 of all coding abilities
$150 per student (sibling discount available)

This workshop focuses on building STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) through the use of LEGO EV3 kits. Students will work in small groups to solve problems and complete different challenges in a fun and educational environment.

Inspired by the recent TV Show LEGO MASTERS, the groups will be given a scenario and will need to construct a robot to meet the challenge using only the parts in one complete Lego EV3 kit. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing participants will be required to construct and program a lunar lander or lunar rover. The workshop is supervised by teachers and coaches and computers and software are provided. Students must bring their own lunch.

Robotics Code Camp

Boys and girls in Years 4 to 6 with basic programming abilities
$150 per student (sibling discount available)

The BBC Code Camp will focus on computer programming skills that can be used to support the learning of coding in schools. Students will work in small groups and use visual, drag and drop programming languages to design and create games in a fun and educational environment.

Computers and software are provided and the camp will be supervised by teachers and coaches. Students must bring their own lunch.

Robotics RoboCup Preparation Workshop

BBC students competing in the 2019 RoboCup Junior National Championships
$120.00 per student (sibling discount available)

Trainers will be available to assist with troubleshooting and the preparation of logbooks.
This workshop will be supervised by teachers and coaches. Students must bring their own lunch.
