Mr Paul Brown, Headmaster, Brisbane Boys’ College, together with the Parents and Friends’ Association warmly invite all new and existing parents of boys from Prep to Year 12 to attend the annual ‘Gathering of the Clan’ to celebrate the commencement of the 2021 school year.

This parent only function will be a highlight of the school year and is a wonderful opportunity to create new connections and develop existing relationships within our College community.

When: Friday 5 February 2021

Time: 6.30pm – 10.30pm

Where: Brisbane Boys’ College campus – Outside College Hall and the Main Administration Building

Dress: Smart Casual

Ticket: $25, includes a welcome drink, food and entertainment

COVID-19 Information for Attendees

This is an outdoor COVID Safe event, and as such, to meet the current Queensland Government restrictions of 2sqm of accessible space per person, ticket sales have been capped at 550 and no further ticket sales will be available once sold out. Tickets are non-transferable due to COVID-19 contact tracing requirements. You must not attend this event if unwell or if any of the following applies to you:

  • In the last 14 days you or a member of your household has travelled from overseas or a COVID-19 hotspot
  • You or a member of your household has been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
  • You or a member of your household are an active COVID-19 case
  • You are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss of taste or smell

If any of the above applies to you or any member of your booking party on the day of the event, please contact P&F Business Manager Sharon Jack at to arrange a refund for that ticket. Refunds will not apply if the ticket holder attends the College, displays these symptoms and is asked to leave. No further refunds apply. Should the event be cancelled at late notice due to circumstances beyond the College’s control, including a sudden change in government advice that prohibits it from going ahead, the ticket price will be forfeited to assist with unrecoverable costs incurred.

If you become unwell during the event, please locate a security officer who will render assistance and provide you with a comfortable space in which to isolate until you can be collected.

While this is a COVID Safe event, it is the individual’s responsibility to maintain physical distancing of 1.5m. Hand sanitising stations will be readily available.

Here are a few additional reminders to help your evening run smoothly:

When and Where?
The event will be held along the front drive of the College, in front of College Hall and the Main Administration Building. The night commences at 6.30pm and will conclude at 10.30pm. We ask that you are please conscious of our neighbours when departing the College, and try and keep noise to a minimum.

Entrance to the event will be via the main Kensington Terrace entrance or the stairs ascending to the College Hall forecourt. A campus map will be provided to attendees prior to the event to guide you.

Please visit one of the two Welcome tables (at the front of College Hall or Main Reception) on your arrival to collect your name tag and complimentary drink ticket. For those looking to meet and mingle with parents of boys in the same cohorts, numbered year level meeting points will be situated throughout the event area.

Parking and Transport
Parking may be available on the oval, pending weather. Limited parking will also be available on campus (Moggill Road entrance only), or in the surrounding streets. Better still, why not book a cab or ride-share and be dropped to the door! Those requiring special assistance or who would like to reserve a disabled parking bay are encouraged to advise the College in advance at so we can assist you.

Dress Code and Footwear
The dress code for Gathering of the Clan is smart casual. For guests’ safety, we recommend non-slip shoes.

What to Bring?
In accordance with Queensland Government advice, attendees may wish to carry a mask with them to wear while entering and exiting the event, or at any time you feel you are not able to maintain physical distancing of 1.5m. Masks are not compulsory. Also be sure to bring along your best dance moves and your credit/debit card for drink ticket purchases. This is a cashless event, with EFTPOS available for contactless payment.
