Co-curricular Activities

Years 10 to 12

146 KB image/jpegA comprehensive range of co-curricular activities is offered for all students.  Participation in co-curricular activities is expected, with involvement in physical activity important for the health and physical well-being of every student. The school recommends that every student be involved in a minimum of two activities per year as involvement allows students to gain a sense of enjoyment and satisfaction from individual and group or team activities.

There are 31 competitive and non-competitive co-curricular activities offered to boys at BBC in the Middle School. Sport, cultural activities, service and clubs offer students a broad range of experiences and opportunities.

Competition

BBC is a founding member of the Great Public School's (GPS) Association of Queensland which was established in 1918.  As a member of this association, BBC participates in a sporting competition of a very high standard against the eight member schools for students in Years 8 to 12.  Some sports are not run by GPS competition and in these cases BBC is a member of the Independent Schools competition. In the Junior School and in Year 7 students compete in the Combined Independent Colleges' (CIC) competition and Junior GPS activities.

For information about the Sports and Activities program at BBC contact Mr Steve Phillpotts Acting Director of Sports and Activities on (07) 3309 3526 or email sphillpotts@bbc.qld.edu.au
