Welcome to the 'Birtles Library' located within the Resource Centre at Brisbane Boys' College (see Library Map). We cater for Middle School (Years 7-9) and Senior School (Years 10-12) students. The Junior School has a library situated within the Junior School precinct which caters for Years 4-6. With over 85,000 resources in our combined collection, your sons have access to one of the most extensive school libraries in Australia. Built on the foundations of a solid core collection in all curriculum areas, our resources are constantly being updated to reflect the ever evolving world of information. We subscribe to over 100 journals and magazines covering many educational topics as well as topics of interest. Your sons also enjoy online subscriptions to a number of databases. Building upon the College motto of 'Success for Every Boy', the Library Team has created 'A Library for Every Boy'. With our three distinct levels, we are able to offer a flexible learning environment providing for differing learning styles and a wide range of learning activities. Teaching staff also enjoy the use of our facilities for their classes. This makes our library a very dynamic and diverse educational environment. Located within the centre and overseen by library staff is a Lecture Theatre, Editing Suite, Seminar Room and E-Zone. |
