We are proud to have a strong history of international students and of the contribution to College life made by these young men and their breadth of achievement during their time at Brisbane Boys' College.

Lifelong friendships are forged and as students of the College you will always be welcomed back to your old school and to join the ranks of many thousands of old collegians who have passed through the 'portal'.

As a boys only school, BBC is specifically tailored to meet the needs of young men as they progress through their education. Excellence is valued and academically gifted students are challenged to reach their full potential. Indeed students at all ability levels are provided with individual support and attention and the school prides itself on the care offered to all.

Brisbane Boys’ College provides a rigorous academic environment which allows every boy to aim to maximise his educational potential. The basis of our educational philosophy at Brisbane Boys’ College is simple – a successful education does not teach students what to think, but how to think. If we are to prepare tomorrow’s leaders, we must help them to develop flexibility of mind, strength of character, social skills and a sound belief system.

General information

Boys classified as 'full fee paying overseas students' are required to remain boarders during their enrolment at the College unless they are living with a parent who is the holder of an appropriate visa (sub-class 590) for the term of their son’s visa.

Full fee paying students are required by the Federal Government to take out medical cover under the Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) Scheme.

The student's Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), required for the student's visa application, will be issued on receipt of the signed Written Agreement and OSHC and course fees in advance as listed on the invoice of fees with your son’s letter of offer.

We recommend you read through the Brisbane Boys' College International Student Policy and Entry Requirements and Student Handbook or contact Student Admissions for further information.

Enrolment Process

The College enrols international students both directly; or where referred and assisted by Education Agents, via our partnership with Global Learner (see below).

Brisbane Boys’ College will continue to enrol international students directly via their Student Admissions Department but also provides choice for international students seeking enrolment at the College.

The process

  1. Family, or Education Agent representing family, seeks to enrol a student directly (no commission).
Contact the Student Admissions Department at Brisbane Boys’ College.
  2. Family seeks to enrol a student with help from an Education Agent (commission).
Education Agent to contact Global Learner for further advice.

Brisbane Boys’ College informs intending students of all requirements for acceptance into a course, and assesses applications for enrolment according to College procedures to determine appropriateness of educational qualifications, experience and English language proficiency for the course for which enrolment is sought.

We recommend you read through the entry requirements and processes for enrolling International students (including application and course selection) as well as the international student fees section prior to submitting an application.

Education Agent Engagement

In 2014, Brisbane Boys’ College commenced an exciting partnership with internationally respected education agency, Global Learner. Agents seeking to refer students to Brisbane Boys’College (international student enrolment), must do so via Global Learner.

Global Learner Director, Jennifer Messina, is a well respected International Education consultant and educator, both at high school and university level, with over 20 years’ experience assisting students, teachers and high-level administrators.

Global Learner and Brisbane Boys’ College proactively support The Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians which “promotes the value which Australia as a nation, places on the central role of education in building a democratic, equitable and just society that is prosperous, cohesive and culturally diverse, and that values Australia’s Indigenous cultures as a key part of the nation’s history, present and future”.

Global Learner provides the forum for international and domestic students to stand side by side and achieve great things, and as such offers a range of services to the international education community. These are aimed at enhancing and promoting a more engaged global student learning experience - academically, socially, linguistically and culturally.

Global Learner is committed to supporting international students seeking to achieve their academic and personal potential to gain success in the holistically supportive environment of Brisbane Boys’ College.
