BBC Parent Connections welcomes parents from all year levels interested in being actively involved in their sons' school life. As the support network for the Parents and Friends' Association, Parent Connections plays a key role in many important aspects of the College.

Parent Connections meets the 2nd Thursday of each month during school term with the Headmaster and relevant staff to share information and ideas about what is happening in the College.

Involvement offers parents a great opportunity to foster friendships throughout the BBC parent community through a range of events and functions organised regularly.

Care and Concern

Care and Concern is a resource group for the school pastoral care program coordinated by the College Chaplain to provide practical assistance to many members of the BBC school community.

This group of volunteers work in strict confidence and at the sole direction and discretion of the College Chaplain, Reverend Graeme Cole.

Our mission is to heighten the sense of community within the College family by practically supporting those families in need.

Meeting Socially

Parent Connectins organises a number of events during the school year to bring new and current parents together socially. All parents are encouraged to attend events including:-

  • Welcome functions at the beginning of the year
  • Spring Fashion Parade
  • Gourmet Winter Lunch
  • Year 12 Mothers' Farewell Lunch

House Representatives

As well as being an active voice in the BBC community, Parent Connections provides a valuable liaison between the wider parent body and the school through its House Representatives program.

The 9 houses at BBC each have parent representatives who are a point of contact for other parents whose sons are in the same house and year level. These reps can give you advice in day-to-day school matters, put you in touch with other families to arrange sporting transport and help streamline College life.

House Reps organise at least one function a year for their respective house. These could include:-

  • a bowling afternoon
  • weekend picnic
  • an adults only event such as a wine appreciation night, movie night, dinner ...

To find out your son's House Representative, refer to the Parents and Friends' Association's Student Directory published and distributed annually.
