Swimming is a life skill that promotes among other things terrific health and fitness, discipline and focus. Swimming at BBC is a cocurricular activity and caters for all levels of swimmers. Our program encourages children to enjoy and participate in swimming to satisfy their own needs. The following junior swimming classes will be available in the summer season 2007-2008.. Private Lessons : (30 minutes) one on one instruction, highly recommended for primary school students with limited swim experience, or require extra focus and attention on an element or technique. Stroke Correction - 45 minute classes Children must be able to complete 25m freestyle side breathing and have a knowledge of breastroke and backstroke. This class focuses on developing stroke mechanics and efficient technique of all four strokes and tumble turns. This is not a fitness class. Mini Squad An introduction to squad training consolidating technique and focusing on maintaining efficient stroking for longer periods. Racing preparation is also introduced. Intermediate Squad - 1 hour classes A more intense class than mini squad designed for the stronger swimmer with the main focuses being fitness, technique development and speed. Junior Squad - 1 hour classes Preparing Junior swimmers for club and school competition. Stroke refinement, race preparation and fitness are the focus of junior squad. This group is aimed at the young competitive swimmer. CROC SQUAD: participation by selection only.
