GPS CRICKET – 2009 season…

Welcome to the BBC Cricket website.

During term 1, BBC cricket offers all interested boys from Yr 5 - 12 the opportunity to play cricket in the CIC or GPS competitions. Boys in P – 4 are also able to participate in Mini clinics each Saturday morning.

BBC Cricket focuses on providing all cricketers with the chance to:

  • Improve their cricket skills
  • Enjoy their cricket
  • Develop new friendships
  • Develop a life – long interest in cricket and sport

BBC cricket’s success in recent years (ranked Top GPS cricket school in 2008and in the top three schools for the past 6 years) can be attributed to the combined dedication, commitment and overall support shown by players, parents and coaches. It is this unified effort that makes the game of cricket such a rewarding pursuit and the BBC program the envy of many schools.

Please see the various links below and via the associated tabs for further information about Cricket at the College.

Enjoy the season!!

Fundraising - McGrath Foundation

All cricketers from Year 5-12 as well as the BBC Community will be given the opportunity this season to raise money for the McGrath Foundation, in aid of
Breast Cancer. Furthermore, this exercise is designed top give all young men of the College a greater awareness of the disease, particularly given the fact it has affected various members of the BBC community in some way.

The fundraising will operate in 3 ways. These are:

  • BBC Cricketers filling in their sponsorship forms (See the McGrath Foundation Sponsorship Form).
Money will be raised on their performance at: 10c/run, $1.50/wicket, 50c/catch or stumping
  • Buying a pink bat grip for $10 from Mr Marriott.
  • Buying a pink cap for $10 or a pink shirt (for the adults) for $20 from Mr Marriott.

2008 saw BBC raise over $11 000 for this charity. I look forward to the tremendous support continuing during the 2009 season. Please get behind this great cause.
