2008 GPS and CIC Season - From the Director of Cricket…

The Cricket season is once again upon us with GPS and CIC matches beginning in February 2008. I trust that the season will provide enjoyment for both players and parents alike and offer the chance for all boys to continue to improve their cricket skills through training and playing matches.

BBC cricket’s success in recent years (ranked in the top three schools for the past 6 years) can be attributed to the combined dedication, commitment and overall support shown by players, parents and coaches. It is this unified effort that makes the game of cricket such a rewarding pursuit.

Boys, congratulations on your selection to play cricket for BBC this season. Your season will be enjoyable and successful if you practice hard, set goals for yourself, remain calm during challenging times, and concentrate on the things that you have control over.

Parents, please support your son’s cricket interest. You can do this by coming along to some games; asking about his cricket endeavours; supporting his coach; and helping to score or manage for his team. Furthermore, the Cricket Support Group operates at the College. You are invited to its meetings, the dates of which are displayed in your son’s ‘Record Book’.

I will be at all ‘home’ games during the season. When you’re there, please say ‘hello’. I look forward to meeting you.

17th January 2008 – Private Coaching Sessions

For boys in Year 7 – 10 (2008) private coaching sessions are available during one of your practical physical education lessons each week. These sessions will run during Term 1 2008, by Ben Dunk, BBC Cricket’s Head Coach. The cost of these sessions will be $35.
