The club is open to Year 7-12 students from February to November. The aim of the club is to encourage students to develop their creative writing skills. There is an emphasis on short story writing but other genres such as poetry and drama are also included. The sessions are held in a computer room, one afternoon per week from 3.00 to 4.30pm. There is a limit of 10 students each semester.

Activities will revolve around three levels: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Generally, the first two levels will take one semester to complete. The Advanced level could take a year or longer. However, students are given the opportunity to work at their own pace and may remain as members as long as they wish.

Students will learn to compose, edit and submit their work to magazines and competitions. They will also attend local excursions, discuss their work with peers and learn about the publishing industry.
