Students with an interest in Drama are encouraged to be involved in one or more of the exciting projects offered at BBC this year.

Drama Committee
2007 sees the formation of a new Drama Committee, the student voice of all things theatrical. The Committee will help to promote Drama in the school, and will also work on strengthening links between teachers, parents, students and the performing arts industry.

Theatre Sports
Theatre Sports is alive and well at BBC! If you enjoy pretending to be someone you’re not, doing something you can’t in a place you have never been…then perhaps theatre sports is your domain. The hilarious and highly skilful improvisational competition is on again this year. Stay tuned for more information about workshops and competitions.

Senior School Bonyi Performance Project
Senior students from BBC and St Aidan’s are working towards an exciting performance project for the Bonyi Festival this year. Workshopped by the students involved and scripted by Laura Duffield and Gerry Kay, the project is a fusion of live acting and cinematic theatre. The project participants are very excited to have the independent company, Markwell Productions on board, to assist with all things cinematic. Want to know more? BUZZ Short Film Competition
Following on the heels of the highly successful first annual BUZZ Competition in 2006, BBC is again hosting this exciting event. Open to all interested students from BBC and St Aidan’s, the festival aims to showcase the best of our budding young film-makers. Details of workshops and dates available soon.

Youth One Act Play Competition
BBC is once again entering The Brisbane Arts One Act Play Competition. This year we will be entering one Middle School performance into the competition. Auditions for the project will be held at the end of term 1 and beginning of term 2 so keep an eye open!
