Private Music Tuition 2008
Students can become involved in the Performance Music Programme
at BBC by joining one or more of the College's bands, choirs,
or orchestras. This lays the foundation for what is usually a
lifelong interest and involvement in Music.
The following groups rehearse regularly at BBC:-

MUSIC SUPPORT GROUP
It is the role of the BBC Music Support Group to support the endeavours of the BBC Music Department which runs an extensive music program covering all types of music making. The Music Support Group organises front of house support for all concerts, particularly the Grand Concert, the pre-concert dinner for the Twilight Concert and the Music Celebration Dinner as well as raising funds for incidental costs and major projects. Funds raised by the Support Group provide;
- Specialist instruments for ensembles
- Funds for guest conductors, master class teachers and adjudicators
- Trophies for competitions held within the school
- A myriad of afternoon teas/suppers at concert performances
- Transport costs of instruments and equipment to off site performances and camps.
This year we are introducing a levy for all middle and senior school music ensemble students. The benefits of this levy will be that:
- All concerts will now be at no cost – including the Grand Concert
- There will be no charge for suppers at concerts. (This excludes the pre-concert dinner for the Twilight Concert.)
- No charges for meals supplied to students between rehearsals and concerts.
- Each student registered will receive a music kit which will include nearly all the information you will need for the coming music year as well as some useful extras for musicians.
- The levy will enable us to focus our fund raising efforts this year on the acquisition of a new grand piano for College Hall.
We would ask that if possible you supply us with your email address on the registration form so that those forgotten notes from the music staff at the bottom of the school bag are a thing of the past and you will be up to date with all that is happening within the Music Support Group. Please consider joining the Support Group, new faces are always welcome.
