GPS Basketball

GPS at Brisbane Boys’ College is implemented in two main areas:

  • GPS Basketball
  • Club Basketball

Involved in all areas is ongoing involvement in representative areas, including Met West, and other local competitions.

Basketball at BBC is played under the banner of BBC Basketball Club, and currently has the same uniform requirements for both sections of involvement. Players require green playing shorts, to be purchased from the Support Group. Singlets are loaned to players for games.

GPS Basketball is played in Terms 3 and 4, usually from early-August through to early-October (commencing immediately after the Rugby/Soccer season). Club involvement has varying levels of participation, ranging from all year, through to just the main season from Easter through to September.

We regularly send teams down to the National titles, and have competed successfully in the past in the Under 17 Division 1 competition.

Parents are encouraged to be active members in the Support Group. Parents can also be involved in games by helping time-keep or score (classes are run in Term 2 and early Term 3 to help parents practice this skill!), and by helping us in administration by acting as a team-manager (keeping track of uniforms, filling in team-sheets, etc.).

Please speak with Mr Bennett with any questions.
